My personal notes
: (be aware that this are my experiences in Victoria Garden. In other places in and around Redding, this plant can behave differently)

Ceanothus lemmonii (Trinity Ceanothus) is a local native to be found in Whiskey Town Park (higher up at the South side) and near Shingletown along highways 36 and 44. I have seen them in  areas with poor, well drained soil, but where it is colder in winter and where the plants do get a bit more rain. This makes this shrub winter hardy, but not complete drought tolerant in the hottest parts of the valley.
It is a beautifully shaped and low growing Ceanothus with, for this species, well known blue flowers. The leaves are medium green and serated.
It is new in Victoria Garden and I am curious how it likes it here.
